Things To Bring For River Trips
Wearing the proper clothing is very important and you should consider the season, water temperature, air temperature and the forecasted weather when selecting your clothing. Everyone must wear shoes that are strapped to your feet and around your ankle on all trips. Old sneakers, water shoes, or strapped sandals are appropriate. You should also plan your dress according to the following seasonal categories:
Summertime:
Cap, visor or inexpensive sun
glasses; bathing suit or shorts and a T-shirt; sun screen; old sneakers,
water shoes, or sport sandals; towel and a change of clothes for after the
trip.

Spring and Fall:
It will be a much more
enjoyable experience for you if you are dressed for the weather. Cotton is a
poor insulator when wet. (And you will get wet.) Don't wear it, or you will be
cold. Wool, polyester, polypropylene, nylon and other synthetics are good. A nylon wind
breaker, or rain gear is also a good idea. Wool socks, cap and gloves are
recommended on cold days. Wet suits and
splash tops are available for rent and are
recommended on cooler days-$14.97 and $6.00 respectively or $17 for both. We
also sell appropriate gear in our pro shop.
Additional Notes:
It is a good idea to make sure you have a secure place to keep your keys and other valuables while you are on one of our trips. We have one-time-use lockers to rent for $2 that take tokens or you can leave everything in your car and we can check your keys for $3.
