Description:
Take our most popular trip - white water rafting - to the next level and navigate the Potomac River on your own! Gather your friends or family and brave the rapids together and enjoy the solitude. You can also choose a guide assisted trip and we will send out a guide or two to help.
This white water rafting trip through the Needles of the Potomac River includes slow water solitude and white water action. In slow water watch for ospreys, great blue herons, and bald eagles; enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge; and talk with your raftmates. But be ready for thrills and spills as you go through the rapids in the Needles. Take in the history and scenery of the Potomac River as you float past Harpers Ferry National Historic Park between the soaring cliffs of Maryland and Loudon Heights, where the Shenandoah River joins the mighty Potomac. Watch out for the snarl of the “Mad Dog” and hold onto your boots as you ride the wild “White Horse.” This beautiful and exciting trip is for everyone! (Class I-III)
Rafts, paddles, personal floatation devices (PFDs), and shuttle to and from the river are provided. Rafts accommodate 4 guests. Though previous rafting experience is recommended, it is not required. However, participants should have no fear of water activities, and you will get wet. Reservations are required. Minimum age 6 to 8, but at least 50 lbs. The average guest completes this trip in about 2 hours, however the trip can take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on water levels and personal pace. You are welcome to take time to swim, surf, and enjoy mother nature. **
